A Love that Lasts

Welcome to the month of February, where around here, we’ll be focusing on A LOVE THAT LASTS!

In a month that can be filled with candy, flowers and love letters, there are many in our community that are working through loss, disappointment, and heartbreak.

God so loved the world that He gave us His Son; and we want to take the month to see that God’s Love is more than a feeling, it’s a love that lasts!

Here are a couple of ways to get involved!

SECOND…We’re continuing with the Joy Journals we started in JOYuary! Each week we’ll have a different focus and journal prompt for you!

  • WEEK 1 (February 1st - 8th)

    • LOVED, RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE

      • LISTEN: Listen for “Joy stories” from listeners and the Joy99 team about unexpected kindness and reminders that God sees you.

      • JOURNAL PROMPT: Who helped you feel loved this week?

      • VERSE: Romans 8:38-39 “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

  • WEEK 2 (February 9th - 15th)

    • LOVE, IN ACTION

      • LISTEN: Listen for “Joy stories” from listeners and the Joy99 team about everyday love and reminders that love is patience, forgiving, service-minded, and presence!

      • JOURNAL PROMPT: Where did YOU see God’s love for you today?

      • VERSE: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

  • WEEK 3 (February 16th - 22nd)

    • LOVING PEOPLE WELL

      • LISTEN: Listen for “Joy stories” from listeners and the Joy99 team about grace in hard relationships, letting go of offense, and loving people who don’t think like you do.

      • JOURNAL PROMPT: Where did you show grace (love) when it was difficult?

      • VERSE: Colossians 3: 12-14 “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.”

  • WEEK 4 (February 26th - 28th)

    • RESTING IN GOD’S LOVE

      • LISTEN: Listen for “Joy stories” from listeners and the Joy99 team about slowing down, letting God love you (rather than strive for it), and trusting God with the things you can’t fix.

      • JOURNAL PROMPT: What helps you feel close to god? Where did you notice LOVE or JOY this month?

      • VERSE: Psalm 62:1 “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.”
