JOY comes in the morning with Tommy and Brooke

Tommy and Brooke have been a morning show team since December 2004. From the moment they first went on the air together, they knew their mission. “To encourage others to encourage others”. Their path has led them here “for such a time as this” and they want God to use them in even more powerful ways. From Cookin’ With Brooke to Little Giggles to the Best Day Ever, they enjoy laughing AND crying with you! They're passionate about spreading the love of Christ and humbled to share Jesus and His music with you.

When Tommy is not on the air, you'll probably see him running a local race or hanging out with his wife, Patty, and 4 kids. And, when you're on Lake Michigan keep an eye open for Brooke, her hubby, "The Captain", and her kids on the boat soakin' up some Pure Michigan sunshine!

What are you dealing with right now? How can they pray for you? How can they encourage you? Who in your home is celebrating what? Want to hear your favorite song? Let us know! Call or text 616-931-9936

Elsie

Weekdays 10am–2pm

Elsie Bee is thrilled to be the midday host on Joy99! Elsie studied broadcasting in college, but felt a call to vocational ministry and spent 2 decades serving in church (and non-profit) ministry. God doesn’t waste a thing, and combined her love of broadcasting with ministry by bringing her to Joy Media in 2019. She is married to the love of her life, Burton, and they have 3 boys—Corbin, Caden, and Cohen. Elsie loves to sing, especially worship music, and also enjoys live theater and dance. She likes spending time with family at Lake Michigan, and quiet walks with Jesus along the lakeshore. She is passionate about recovery ministry and the full inclusion of people of all abilities! Elsie is a graduate of Anderson University and The Church of God Theological Seminary. She is an ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the Reformed Church in America.

Brant

6pm–10pm

Brant Hansen is an author, nationally syndicated radio host, and advocate for healing children with correctable disabilities.

He’s won multiple “personality of the year” awards for his work on his offbeat and quirky radio show, which airs on more than 200 stations. His podcast with his friend and radio producer, Sherri Lynn (“The Brant and Sherri Oddcast”) has been downloaded millions of times.

He has written for CNN.com, The Washington PostU.S. News and World ReportThe South Florida Sun-SentinelRelevant, and numerous other outlets on matters as varied as public policy, culture, sports, Asperger’s Syndrome, and faith. He’s been a game inventor, fronted a modern rock band, still dabbles in singing and songwriting.

He has been married for 29 years to Carolyn, and they have two grown children.

He thinks Jesus is the only person who really makes sense. Jesus said “No one is good but God” and this affirms Brant’s observations of himself, others, and all of human history.

Brant is diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome. It causes him to say things you’re not supposed to say, apparently. But he asks God to please, please help him not to hurt people, but to be a blessing to them.

Brant is thankful for anyone who wants to be friends, but he gravitates to outcasts and weirdos, because they’re usually nice to him.

JOY in the evening with Brant!
