Deep Dives from the This Lyric, That Truth Podcast

I was recently working on a home improvement project that involved a lot of caulking and nail hole filling and sanding and painting. It was labor intensive to say the least. So, I popped in my headphones and listened to some episodes of the This Lyric, That Truth Podcast. Our heart behind providing an additional podcast product, along with what you encounter on the radio is that sometimes you just want to go a little deeper than time allows during a quick chat in between songs. Maybe you, like me, are looking to grow in your faith. I recently talked with my husband, Pastor Dave, about a song that resonates with the cry of a generation longing for a deeper connection with Jesus, emphasizing the need for genuine relationships and experiences in faith. We explored the themes of authenticity in faith, the importance of community, and the desire to return to the purity of the gospel. When I listened back to it, it provided such fresh inspiration. Here’s the episode!

I also had a fascinating discussion with Dr. Keith A. Louwerse PsyD., a psychologist and founder of Headwaters Counseling.  We talked of the importance of counseling for families. Keith emphasizes the need for support in navigating parenting and mental health challenges, particularly in the wake of the pandemic. He also demystifies therapy, highlighting its relational nature and the transformative power of therapeutic relationships. Perhaps you or a family member could just use an additional resource of someone to talk to and you don’t know how to get started. Episode here!

And most recently, I reconnected with Jeremy Henry, who reflected on his 21-year journey in radio, particularly at Joy99. We discuss his return to the station after a decade, the growth he experienced during his time away, and his newfound passion for connecting with the community. Jeremy emphasizes the importance of serving listeners and creating meaningful relationships, inspired by the concept of 'unreasonable hospitality.' He shares a touching story about a listener with special needs, illustrating the impact of going the extra mile to connect with individuals. Get to know Jeremy Henry better HERE!
