Loved. Treasured. Secure.

There’s something about scrolling social media around a holiday that make us feel “less than” or unworthy. On Valentine’s Day, our feeds fill with roses, candlelit dinners, surprise getaways, handwritten notes. Smiling selfies. Perfect lighting. Public declarations.

And even if we’re genuinely happy for others, and even if we had a great day, comparison slips in. We start keeping score.

Why didn’t I get that?
Why didn’t someone choose me like that?
Why does their life look fuller, sweeter, more certain than mine?

Comparison has a way of turning someone else’s celebration into our own self-evaluation. It magnifies what we think we lack and minimizes what we already have. It can make us feel behind, overlooked, unwanted — even if nothing in our actual life has changed.

Which is why the week after Valentine’s Day is a good time to ground ourselves in something deeper — something that doesn’t fluctuate when we find ourselves playing the comparison game.

We are infinitely loved, infinitely treasured, infinitely secure — because of God.

Not because someone posted about us.
Not because we were pursued.
Not because we proved ourselves worthy.

Because of Him.

Human love, even at its best, has limits. It gets distracted. It misunderstands. It grows tired. God’s love doesn’t. When our self-image is rooted in infinite love, striving begins to loosen its grip. We can stop auditioning for approval. We can stop hustling for validation.

You are not loved because you are impressive. You are loved because He is love.

Many of us quietly carry the belief that we are too much or not enough. Too emotional. Too flawed. Too ordinary. But you are not an afterthought to God. You are intentional. Known. Wanted. Treasured.

Security is rare in a world that constantly shifts. Relationships change. Feelings change. Trends change. Our own experiences and levels of confidence change.

But infinite security means this: nothing can separate us from God’s love. Not rejection. Not loneliness. Not our worst moments or biggest mistakes.

Our foundations AND future are secure, not because we are good enough, but because of God’s incredible generosity and grace.

The next time you catch yourself feeling “less than” because of something you’ve seen posted on a screen, remember what God says about you -

Infinitely loved.
Infinitely treasured.
Infinitely secure.
