JoyBus Petals it Forward

Each year we partner with a local florist to join in the nationwide mission to Petal It Forward.

This movement takes bouquets of flowers and spreads joy and kindness with them. Volunteers hand strangers two bouquets, one for them to keep and one for them to give to someone else!

We took it to the streets, giving flowers to literally everyone we saw! The responses to this was amazing.

In a world where we are so used to people wanting something in return, kindness like this typically leaves people in a joyful shock to where you can actually see the joy weld up inside.

As a lady got out of her car we handed over the flowers and as she broke down crying, she explained that it was her last day of work as she was retiring and having bittersweet feelings about it. Receiving the flowers was the best way to start this day.

An amazing part of this Petal It Forward mission was when each person was told to give the extra bouquet of flowers to someone on their own, each person said that they knew just the person to give it to!

I received an email later that day that explains how God’s loving hand was over this mission.

Thank you Joy99 for showing up as an answer to my prayer this morning! I am a caregiver for my husband who has had Alzheimer's for the past 12 yrs. This morning as I was leaving him in the help of a friend, I drove to town to do a few errands. As I parked the car, I breathed a prayer to God, asking if He still cared. I was feeling overwhelmed with all the responsibilities of caring for him and taking care of our household too.

As I got out of my car, a gentleman was quickly right there asking if I wanted to be blessed today? Of course, I said, Yes. He identified himself as being from JOY99 as he held out 2 small bouquets of flowers. I felt as if God himself had reached out to give them to me. It was like a gentle hug of love from HIM. He quickly explained I was to keep one, but pay it forward to someone else with the second bouquet. I immediately knew who also needed a blessing today and delivered them to her door on my way home.

My whole attitude changed and I found myself smiling, knowing God heard me and cares. YES! He cares for sure.

Thank you, JOY99 for being such an encouragement to me today. And yes, I'm a regular listener to your station as well. Blessings on you all as you serve Him. I thank God for you from a grateful heart today.

Go Jesus!
