Shine So Bright
As a child of the 80's, songs are the soundtrack of my life. In 1984, Corey Hart took the song "Sunglasses At Night" into the top 10. It wasn't just singable, it created a movement to actually wear sunglasses at night. (along with pegged pants and a popped collar)
As we begin the summer of 2026, I wonder if we can create a different movement. What if we brought this fad back, not because it looks cool? But because it means something more.
What does our daily walk look like? Do people see us acting differently? Do coworkers hear our tone and encouraging words? Or do we sound "just like everyone else"?
"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matt 5:14-16 NIV
This summer, let's aim to shine so brightly that people need sunglasses around us. Even at night.
