Songs That Stick
There are songs that we hear that seem to go in one ear and out the other. Then, there are songs that stay with us seemingly all our lives.
We recently asked our Joy99 Music Team about the songs that have stuck with them. For Beth, it was “I Know A Name” by Elevation Worship. She said she believes God healed her during her breast cancer treatment and that song carried her through her journey. For Becky, it’s “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe. She said they played that at her son’s funeral and it will always have a special place in her heart.
I’ve had several songs come and go that have added meaning and comfort during some hard and confusing times. But there’s one I keep coming back to. And that’s “Goodness Of God” by Jenn Johnson. We started playing that song here at Joy99 in October of 2019. It quickly became one of my favorite songs. From singing it on worship team, singing it in the car, and singing it at both my mom and dad’s funerals, it gets me every time. I think declaring over and over again that “all my life You have been faithful…and all my life You have been SO SO good” is a message I need daily.
What about you? What song that we play here on Joy99 has really stuck with you and why? We’d love to hear from you! And if you’re not already, please join our Joy99 Music Team and tell us what your favorite songs are so we can play them MORE!
