From “Why Me?” to “What Now?”
I feel like we all have them. Dates that will be burned into our minds forever, right?
For me, one of those days is July 18, 2023. That’s the day I had a stroke… well actually, 2 strokes. It’s unbelievable to me that it’s been 3 years. That’s 3 years of undeniable proof that God isn’t done with me yet. It’s 3 years of trading my plan for His purpose, and realizing that surviving wasn’t just about staying alive—it was about sharing His grace and mercy.
If you had told me during those dark days in the hospital and in rehab that I would ever speak on a microphone again, I wouldn’t have believed you. I never thought I’d be back on the radio. For a long time, just speaking clearly and putting two thoughts together felt like a mountain I couldn’t climb. But God had other plans.
Today, when that on-air light is lit and I get to share, I am reminded that He has me here for a reason. My voice isn’t back just so I can do my job; it’s back so I can tell about His goodness.
Allow me to look past my own microphone now and speak to you directly. If you are going through something right now—if you are sitting in your own dark valley, staring at a mountain that feels impossible to move—I want to tell you to trust God.
Your situation might not be two strokes. It might be a broken relationship, a financial crisis, a different medical diagnosis, or just a heavy weight you carry in secret. Whatever your “July 18th” is, please know that your story is not over. The same God who carried me out of that hospital bed and put me back on the airwaves is ready to hold you up, too. Trust Him with the messy pieces, trust Him with your weakness, and trust that He has you here for a reason.
2 Corinthians 12:9: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (Perfect for days when you feel cognitively and physically exhausted).
If you want to hear exactly what God’s goodness sounds like in action, I want to invite you to listen to this short break where I share a bit of this story. My prayer is that when you hit play, you don’t just hear my voice—you hear the voice of a God who still performs miracles today.
Thank you for reading, for listening, and for walking this journey with me.

Also, this is my new theme song. It stopped me in my tracks the first time I heard it. I’m SO
THANKFUL that God gave me “One More Day”
