While you often hear us say, “Have the Best Day Ever!”, just know that this fall we ALSO hope that you can have a P.U.M.P.K.I.N. kind of day!
Having a “PUMPKIN” kind of day is a cute fall reminder that PUMPKIN can be more than your favorite seasonal flavor—it can be a simple checklist for approaching your day with faith, encouragement and purpose.
P - PRAISE GOD: Start your day by focusing on who God is rather than immediately focusing on everything you have to get done. Gratitude and praise can change the perspective you carry into the day.
U - UPLIFT OTHERS: Look for somebody who could use an encouraging word. Scripture tells us to encourage one another and build each other up in 1 Thessalonians 5:11.
M - MEDITATE ON GOD'S WORD: Don't just quickly read a verse and move on. Take something from Scripture with you and think about it throughout the day. Joshua 1:8 specifically speaks about meditating on God's Word day and night.
P - PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING: The big things, the little things, the things you're worried about and even the things you think you can handle yourself. Ephesians 6:18 encourages believers to pray on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
K - KNOW YOUR LIMITS: You aren't meant to do everything, fix everything or be everything to everybody. Sometimes wisdom looks like saying no, resting or admitting that you need help.
I - INFLUENCE OTHERS FOR GOOD: You don't have to preach a sermon to influence someone. Kindness, patience, generosity and the way you treat people can point others toward something different. Hebrews 10:24 encourages us to spur one another toward love and good deeds.
N - NEVER GIVE UP: Some seasons require perseverance more than others. Keep praying, keep trusting and keep taking the next faithful step. Scripture repeatedly connects the Christian life with perseverance and continuing even when things are difficult.
