Joy for Pastors

Being a pastor is one of those jobs that weighs heavy.

They not only hold the responsibility to bring the truth to a large group of people, they walk alongside their community through trials.

Each year Joy Bus makes stops to show support to them with gift baskets filled with things to make them smile.

At one of these visits the church's secretary called for their pastor to come out to the front office. He was declining and so she had to convince him that he wouldn’t want to miss what was waiting for him.

As he was walking down the hall, I shouted “you’re being JOYED”. He went down to his knees with emotion.

Little did I know, he had just done two funerals that day and got another call from someone dealing with a lot.

The surprise of something joyful was a refresher that the Lord knew he needed.
